Can Mbox be a plus if I have a MPC?

I was thinking about MPC 1000, why do I need a program such as Cubase og Fruity Loops? I just thought I'd make the beats in the MPC and drag and drop them, how do those programs help me?

(And also, Afekz.. what if I only take the mixer? How much would that cost?)

Peace,
Darri.

I'm still pretty new myself but i'll try and help....

as far as the programs go, they are nice because you can mix/sequence in them if you like...and also...alot of progs like reason, fruity etc. have factory soundbanks that you can use....

now you dont HAVE to use them, but it IS nice....say you make a ruff draft of a beat in the mpc or known as a "skeleton", you can transfer it and record it into whatever software you use then add maybe some melodies or anything else you may want to add....using the sounds provided in the software....

hope this helped somewhat...should give you the jist...

if you want to track your beats in to cubase, check out steinbergs system 4. you'll get cubase sl and a recording interface for less than the price of an mbox.

Mbox and Pro Tools didn't work with my computer until yesterday when my uncle fixed it. You can probably wire MPC and Mbox together and do something fun.

I hear ya about the programs. Thanks.
