I made beats on the PC for over 5 years now, first on fasttracker then on fruityloops and I am soon to be the proud owner of a MPC3000.

I was wondering...
Most people hook it up with a ZIP100, but is it also possible to use a ZIP250??? or even a Jaz drive???

why is this or isn't this a good idea???

I don't know if that makes sense but bigger is better nowadays so I'm asking....anyone???

I assume that the 250 will be cool, but the Jazz is suspect. They have been very unreliable for people. Be careful of them.

Peace.

jazz drives are not recomended. they have problems reading the mpc.
the only problem w/ zip drives is you have to find one with an scsi connection. new zip drives are usb.

250Mb SCSI is just fine. But it will partition it in a,b,c,d,e,... parts of about 30Mb. So i would say buy a zip 250 SCSI while you still can.
