Timestretching on the mpc 2000xl

i dont get how to do this at all, say you have a sample and u want it to loop within 4 bars and it ends on 4-3 how would you make it longer so it would fit.

If it's just slightly off, I would only tune it (in Program Mode I think) to fit the sequence. Tune it down to make it longer, up to make it shorter.

If you start off with a phrase sample and don't have a beat yet, you could even adjust the sequence tempo to fit the sample, before adding the drums.

Now If ou want to Do something STRICTLY HARDWARE THEN...............

I Don't Want to Assume But Did you already timestretch it and then realize that your sample was just a measure short of 4 full bars???

or

Did you sample four full bars but your sequence bpm is a little slower than the actual samples time???

If the Sample is Only a measure short.......

Let the Loop Go to 4.3 then Just Copy the Sample to a Different Pad and Jus' chop the new copy top 1 short measure then Hit it Rapidly Until U Reach 4.4

If you have 4 full bars then Use the MPCz timestretch function as listed in Da Manual...............
