I will be picking up a brand new 2500 tomorrow :D 8) :D 8) and I thought I would ask you guys a question.

Should I install the new OS as soon as I get the 2500, or wait for some kind of bug or problem?

I know ultimately that this my decision I just want some advice

Suggest reading the posts on "system test" issue and "is it just me", as after reading and contributing my personal choice was to down grade from 1.21 to 1.2

There isn't a perfect OS yet, so whichever you choose will suffer from some bug or other. For learning your way around the system, any OS is good. Most of the bugs have workarounds so it won't stop you making music :)

ok good,....I do have the 1.21 OS on my pc ready and waiting. To start out I will just use the shipped OS and learn the machine unless I incounter a problem.
Thanks for the advice :)

speaking of bugs, i just assigned a pad to the slider, decided i didnt like how it sounded, when i take the sound off the slider now, the sample is noticably quieter than it was before. the samples next to it sound normal. wtf!

FIX THE BUGS!@#

is there any way to get the sample back to normal?

i found that when the sample was being played i could move the slider down then up and itd bring it to the correct volume, but only when it was being playd, not permanently

what i had to do in that case to get it to sound normal was assign it to a slider again, then barely adjust the slider when the sample was triggered just enough to bring it back to the correct volume

still, you should not have to find ways around the bugs, shit is stupid...and frustrating.
