2500 Jog Wheel

Is it just me, or does anyone else miss the "accelerate" characteristics of the 2000XL jog wheel? I've gotten used to changing the digits of the place value on the 2500's wheel, but IMO it seems like chopping a sample was more efficient with the XL's.

Together with the more exact positioning of the 2500 wheel, could be really helpful, yea.

I do like the 2000/2000XLs jog wheel better.....can't front on that.

2500's wheel is awful in comparison.

Yeah not to mention my silver paint is already worn off in the hole for your finger.

didn't someone mod their 2500 to have a metal knob on it? from like a old stereo or something? it was a while ago. i don't remember.

It would be nice to know how that knob is on there. Just in case I have to change mine too. A big fat metal one would be nice. Especially if it vibrated.

I like the jog wheel alot... I use the sliders to chop and the wheel just for fine adjustments. The wheels cool for scrollong through files with that little click too......

How long do you have it? And how much do you use it? Cause I have issues with paint coming off as well (not on the wheel though), but I got a 3 year warranty...

The jog wheel would still be rubbish if it was in a good location on the unit, but it's not. On the 2000 and previous machines, it was right in the centre and isolated a bit from the other butons, so you could rest your hand comfortably while turning it. This one is perched right on the edge and isn't much fun or comfort to use at all.

you do know that in trim you hold down shift and cursor over the numbers, then use the jog wheel, i agree its not as convient as the accelerated jog wheel (which should be an option).

my paints wearin off too, just wear and tear

Maybe you guys need to cut your finger nails

yeah, vibrate like a video game.......like when you make a dope beat, it vibrates. haha

i got a differant move when i use that wheel. i dont use the finger hole like the 2xl. I twist it from the sides. Seems to work better for me. It takes some gettin use to, but I can do it smoother. If I use the finger nub, it gets jerky feeling.

yeah, you can get a bit of whip on it from the side to!
