1 Gig Card "full" with 900 megs left?

Last night I inserted my 1 Gig CF card into my PC to adjust some wavs.

Now today I saved an APS with a gang of sounds in the MPC with no problem, but when I went to save a seperate PGM it said "file directory full" and showed 939 megs free. I've heard there's a conflict with Windows and ZIP Disks for the MPC but I don't know if that pertains to cards. Anyone know what's up with this?

hey. Format the cf card on the pc. Maybe that works... otherwise u might have a failing card... never happened to me though....

I have about 60 megabytes on the card

How many files in the root direcotry of your card ?
Do you use folders?

I have no idea how many files are on it, but it's 60 megabytes worth. I don't use folders either. I just tried to save a single 2 second sound and it still gave me "file directory full". I'm assed out without this card.

Can I dump what's on the card to my computer, re-format it , then drag the files back? Is it recommended to format in the MPC or the comp? Plaese to help.
I've been using zips for years but I finally installed the card reader from VST and I'm new to all this.

Sorry for replying so late but there is the reason for your card being 'full', what you have to do is create a folder per project and move all files of eacht project in its own folder. The filesystem as used by the 2kxl only accepts so many files in the rootdirectory even when there is enough space left on the drive, this has to do with the FAT table of your cf card.

So start using directories for each song one directory .

Ahhhh ok, so just make a folder within the Root directory for each project. Hopefully I can fix what I've got in there now. Thanks for the help, my man.
