Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi! I'm from Portugal, and I've recently bought a second-handed 2000 XL. Everything seems to be working fine as hell, except for the note variation slider. I've noticed there's s been 1 or 2 topics previously posted about this particular issue, but my problem with the slider seems to be different than that. the thing is, when I assign it to a note, it works ok, but only if I keep finger pressing down the slider real hard. If I don't do that, and release it, instead of keeping that pitch/decay value, it gradually comes down 'til it reaches the minimum value, even thought it's pulled all the way up. could this be a param setting or my fader is just broken?

thanks, lotta love

Mine does the exact same thing, why, cause it's broken.

Sorry to tell you that but it's true.

Hi,

my slider was broken ,too. I got a 2000XL, the slider is nothing special.

It´s a standart ALPS-Fader, look for it.

I also accidentally hit the nv-slider with my ellbow a few months ago....
I also wanted to get a new one when I remembered that there was a thread on this forum where a guy said that it wouldn't be that difficult to fix it on your own; an he was right!!
there are only 4 contacts that you have to put in shape again!
if you have a little experience in electronics I'd give it a try; it's broke anyway!
good luck
