i don't know what to do should i sell my mpc2000

i don't know what to do should i sell my mpc2000 the has the 32 megs 8 outs & zip drive for a mpc2000xl cuz chopping on the xl is better then the 2000
cuz the xl do everything for u as far as chopping records the 2000 u have to chop every part your self..

do whatever you want to....

I prefer chopping my stuff in recycle then getting my program all set to go in mpc editor. I have an XL but i only find myself chopping with it if what i need is a one hit or the like. for chopping longer samples recycle is great. If you dont use the pc like that then i suppose the xl would be better. but if i was in your position i would stick with your 2k.

well i don't know cuz everybody sayin the xl is better the my 2000 and i do use a pc with all music

dawg dont sell it ,it will be worth loot later trust me look at the 3000 and the 60/mk2 they worth loot on ebay....just get recyle chop it then shoot it back to the classic....i have the xl-MCD and the classic all i use the xl for is choppin then save the program then load it up to the classic and i make the beat with the classic ....dont be fooled by others keep it....or buy a 1000 and chop with it and save the program and use the classic

1k's pgms are being read by a classic? i dont think so...if im wrong correct me , if not, its not nice to confuse people like this.

they sell sample disk that can be read by all mpc's ,i think the .snd format is an akai standerd format that can be read by most mpc's if not he can use mpc editor!!!

i saw a mpc 60 in a friends studio and i was drooling as fcck!
what i mean is that u cant create a pgm in the 1k and read it in the 2k classic, u can do the opposite!

it would be odd that they would make the 1000 and not have it able to be backwards compatible with older mpc's if they did that, that would mean people would haft to get new sound collection's cuz the would not be able to use the old one's from the older mpc's

To sell the 2k because you can't auto region on it is crazy.

The 2k is solid and since you're using a computer why not chop and edit waveforms on there.Actually it's faster and will help speed up your production.2k(OG) or xl it's not what you own,it's how you use it.

pff... yes it is backward compatible meaning that it reads 2000 pgm's(not every parameter tho) but obviously the opposite is not the same!

get rid of the classic and keep the 8 outs. get the xl and install the 8 outs on that joint. and yes the classic and the xl uses the same 8 outs you dont have to buy another one. made this same transition myself.
