Fitting Your Sample To Fit The Beat On the 3000.

Sup All!! 2 questions

1. I have a MPC3000 on the way and ive used 2000xl and the 4000. i was wondering for the cats out here who have a 3000,what technique do you use to keep you samples (loops) on time with the beat since i know i wont have the luxury of BPM Matching or Time Streching.Say i had a 2 bar loop and the beat was 95bpm's would i have to just play around with the sample and tune(pich) it right?

2. Do any of you guys use your loop function or do you just let the sequencer loop the sample for you?

You can use Recycle or other software to chop the beat into a RexII file. Then set it to the right tempo and resample into the 3K or convert to a snd. file with MPC Editor and import into the 3K.

I usually just let the sequence loop and retrigger.

The old school way.

Like matching two records by using the pitch control.

As an example ...

After editing a sample so that it would loop in a seamless fashion ( if looped ) ...

I set this sampled loop to trigger in MONO mode.

This sampled loop then gets inserted at a bar's beginning and it's tuning gets adjusted until it loops correctly while playing when the sequence wraps around.

Or the sequence tempo gets adjusted in the sub BPM range ( 123.X, where X could be 1-9 ) range in conjunction with re-tuning the sample.
