Maybe think about an Emu Ultra series, like the e5000, instead of the MPC 1k. The Emu has "Beat Munging" Which I think is supposed to be a chop thingie....Anyway worth checking out, tho I never had an Emu sampler with that on it, if I was going to buy a sampler to complement the 2k, it would for sure not be a 1k. So yeah, either the Emu E5000/ e4xt or use a PC and recycle....someone must have said that a few pages ago.

I don't think you can add a Multi-card reader in the 2K classic, can't you? I don't know, I could be wrong.

The are many advantages the XL has over the classic, people just choose to ignore them. :?

I guess it helps to understand why they still have a classic, don't know.
Seriously, here's a post in another thread showing the advantages of the XL over the classic.

XL Advantages

Unlike the 60 and 3k the classic will continue to drop in value, since more buyers in the use market will see the advantages of the XL and go for that.
To a used buyer you don't lose anything from the classic by going with the XL.

booo you should have listened to what everyone was saying. people came with many on point alternatives....2k classic plus a e5000 ultra, you have a better studio than with just a 1k and at the same cost. although I coudl see why you might rather have a different M-Peezy tho, but still....If the mpc is the center of your studio, and you have a 1k.....questionable.....

But to give creedit, you can do alot more without having your samples leave the machine, on the 1000.
