over a month ago i lost 2 zips worth of beats that i saved from my 3k to an external SCSI Zip 100. when i try to load the disks all i get is the "click of death".

i took the disks to a few local (Chicago) data recovery places, but they want to charge $6-700/disk. Iomega is slighlty cheaper, but they need like 8 weeks to look at them.

anyone on here got one of them good ol' ghetto remedies or something??

thanks in advance...

There is no magic to data recovery, if you have trieds different ZIP drives then the problem is the disk.
Honestly, 200mb of beats is how many?
Just move on.
It's been a month right?
Iomega said 8 weeks and you have done half of that already.
If 30 days have gone by since the ZIPs died, then you didn't really need them.
30 days would have meant that you would have tried to re-do the beats or pay the high data recovery price.
Seriously just move on and save your self the headache.
Do learn from it and store your stuff more than 1 place.
