Where to buy the multi card reader?

Hey

I just bought a 2000xl from a guy and its got an internal zip drive but i dont have an external one and figure for the price im gonna pay to get one and zip disks i could just buy a multi card reader. I have been reading and saw that the IISDMC is compatible with the mpc but just having trouble finding a place to buy one. Anyone here bought one and can let me know where i can pick one up?

I live in Reykjavík, Iceland and it arrived yesterday (to my workplace) via fedex (shipping from the us to iceland usually takes more than a week)

(I also ordered one from that german site, and I never recieved it and they say I haven't paid for it, but I did, so don't buy it from there )

i read what it says on midicase.com...

internal scsi card reader, w/ $5 box and connectors...

anyone tried this? zip disks don't make sense no more...

If I'm upgrading from a floppy drive, how do I get my beats saved on floppies onto my MPC once it's fitted with a card reader? SCSI floppy drive? That's all I can think of. Any help is appreciated.

a scsi floppy would be extremely hard to find

just pick up a usb floppy drive, drag all of your beats/files onto whatever computer you have
drag all of those files from your computer to a usb card read (all in one card readers are $10, $20 at the most), take that card and put it in your mp

voila

one more thing:
make sure you put whatever sounds/programs/all files in separate folders per beat. im saying this becasue you most likely didnt use folders when you were saving your beats on floppies
example
beat 1: all of beat 1 samples, programs, etc are stored in this folder.
same thing goes for beat 2, etc.

and make sure that your folder names are no more than 8 characters

People, the pic that HAGEIR posted is THE EXACT same card reader that PT3R suggests in my USEFUL LINKS thread. It's IDE/Atapi, 2kxl has a connector on the motherboard for it so YES, it can be used with the 2kxl, not 2k classic, this card reader is NOT scsi.

That pic has nothing to with what is on midicase.com.

I have the EXACT same card reader in my 2kxl and it's PERFECT.

I just ordered the reader from a site i found called shopdigi.com. I used this site cause it seemed like the cheapest shipping to canada. I also just got a 1 gb card off ebay so hopefully everything goes smooth and i can get this installed. Ive built my own computers so i dont think itll be hard at all.

Swapping from floppy to card reader shouldn't even pose a challenge to you then. Not even the power cable splicing will be hard to you.

i know this is an old thread.. but i found it when searching out card readers...

my zips (i have 2) are both now displaying "disk read error" when i load up my tracks.. i have 4 songs that i really don't want to lose..

so i've decided to swap over to a card reader.. i've ordered one from the states... i've never done anything like this before (installing stuff with soldering and the likes) .. but i'm gonna give it a go..

my macbook doesnt have a card reader or slot.. can i get a usb one or something for my mac??

I have the same thing... A mac book pro with the express card 34 slot.
I see that you can get express cards that give my MAC a card reader for under $30 that works with CF and SD.

CF is better than a SD card right?

I'm getting the IDE/ATAPI Interface Flash Memory Card Reader-Writer for CF type I & II Card / Microdrive / SD / MMC / Memory Stick / SM Card
for
Desktop PC, Akai MPC2000 / MPC2000XL, etc.

And then the express card reader... I hope this works. I'm sick of losing info on my zip drive!!!
