True True, I plan on using records, but transfer them on to cd. to get a clean sound. Thanks all for the advice

Recording from vinyl to cd won't change the quality of your recording.

It will still sound like it came from vinly.

Unless you process out all the pops clicks and other stuff to clean up the recording, that will make it less vinly sounding and ruins the whole "vinyl asthetic" of the recording . Boo to that, let it stay sounding vinyl while placing it onto cd.

If you want a clean sound, extract from cd with your pc (if u got one) and then transfer it to the mpc. When u connect analog out of your cd player to analog in of ur mpc you are doing one D/A and one A/D conversion so that crystal clear digital sound will lose quality.
But maybe u want that crackle sound that all of we love from vinyl, then u will need a mixer with a RIAA preamp (phono in). It depends of the kind of sound that u want.

anyways I was just asking, cuz I just bought an mpc 1000 last month, and stevie -g if you thought this is a terrible topic, you shouldn't have responded. Plus I'm a female, and know a lot about Hip Hop culture and music. But I thanks all that responded with positive feed back.
