Okay If you have a break, do you cut it up into individual sounds then play each sound back as a new track (ex. start with hat for 2 bars, then kick for 2, then snare for 2) or do you play back the entire break as one pattern. This may sound confusing, but like ex. kick then hat then snare then hat then 2 kicks hat snare hat (all in one sequence) ... I find that if I do it like that I get more of a swing then if I tried droppin a beat with all original drum sounds on single tracks. Most kicks in breaks have a hat on em so I get a normal hh pattern. I don't use timing when I do this and normally its sounds dope. I just wanna see how you heads freak your mpc.
