MPC Editor???

Thinking of getting the "MPC Editor"? Who has used it and is is really worth the 29.99 for the full version?

Also, I see that they (midicase.com) hasn't updated software in like 2 years........who has purchased it recently?

They don't need to update it. It does what it is supposed to easily. It makes programs. Simple as that.

Hey, i got it recently I found that it plays the instrument samples i have at a higher bpm, like tuned up two 50 or something. I asked the guy about it when I purchased it, he said it could be changed but didn't help me out. I then said i would like a refund if he can't tell me how to play them at normal speed, and he didn't reply to my emails after that.

Has anyone had the problem where your samples play super fast?

my trial runs out in 7 days. I find it so usefull I am buying it tommarow. Great program.

Did anyone else have this sped up sound problem or is this just an isolated incident?

If it is a constant problem I still might get this joint cause I'm getting real tired of downloading sounds and then have to load the sounds one by one and then save them.....that sh*t is a pain in the ass.

BTW...why in the world do programs for new machines (Blue Box for MPC1000) cost nothing when stuff for a classic machine as the 2000 cost? Just curious?

Been using the Editor since Mike first offered it.
Used it with a classic, xl, 60 and 3k.
Never seen or heard of the speed problem.
Sounds like something related to his sound card settings.

The reason that Blue Box is free is because you don't need it.
You can transfer more effectively with the 1k than the older units.

The speed problem isn't really anything to do with MPCEditor, it's because the samples you are putting into it are not at 44.1kHz. Just like the MPC, MPCEditor adjusts the frequency to 44.1, which may involve pitching up the sample and hence the result is chipmunk samples.

Yes, it would be nice if it handled this more gracefully. My advice is to convert the samples to 44.1 in something like Soundforge first.

As for it being worth the $30 - download the trial and decide for yourself. But I reckon it's well worth the price of a few patch cables.

I use Steinberg WaveLab and just batch process all my sounds before adding into mpc ed programs. works well.

mpc-tutor: just bought the xl ebook last night. Tnx for that. really good info in it.

Thanks for the kind words, but after 3 emails of asking for help with no solution, A person like myself with no software knowledge would easily come up with, "oh i just through that in soundforge and change it up!"

like i would know that bud, get real.

P.s. I asked for a refund as a last resort, cause I'm a fair person if I pay thirty bones for something I like to have my questions answered.. wouldn't you?

Get MPC Editor ASAP it's the best software tool invented for the MPC range ;)

It will make you love your MPC even more :P

2000XL user here:

I had the same issue, the problem is with the way you saved your samples. All the samples that were saved as file type (MPC2000) files will have the chipmunk effect in MPC Editor.

To correct this you have to re-save your samples as file type (WAV) files when it gives you the option in the "save a sound" window. (There is no need to re-record the samples, just save the existing samples again that you already have) Just make sure you choose the WAV file type.

Once saved in the WAV format, try using MPC editor again and let me know if it worked.
