Question: About the MPC1k Tutorial book beeing sold...

since the new OS is being implemented in virtually everyones 1k now... im wondering, will all the added features the new OS offers be applied to the tutorial...if so...when the final New OS drops and the tutorial has all the new added features in it...id be willing to Cop that tutorial...


-just wondering...so i dont have to go n buy 2-3 different tutorial books,looking thru them all for what i want just for one machine.


a thought that should be takin into consideration atleast to making that tutorial nicer then im sure it already is...

the tutorial on this site has ntohing to do with jj's updated system os.

actually i was asking if it would alter since the new MPC1k OS is altering...and i was wondering if he'd make changes to the tutorial (of how to use certain specific things in the new OS aswell as the original OS features that are already in the Tutorial...

i mean...it'd probably be pretty simple for them...they could copy and edit alot of stuff thats already around in his other tutorials and just simply add it in...but its just an idea,suggestion, and pleasent thought that could help out alot as far as a Tutorial...all you'd have to do is have a OS 3.0 section and add in all the additions it brings with simple tutorials on how to float around the mpc1k OS 3.0....

no im not saying your dumb but i doubt mpc tutor will do anything with jj's new os.

If you have a good understanding of your MP picking up how to use the new features shoudn't be too hard.

IMO If the new feature are too complex for certain users, maybe it'd be best if they didn't use them.

Learn your MP first before you start messing around with 3rd party update. It's all about the music not the OS.

new OS dosent really need a maunal , if you know your mpc this OS sort of flows in the right dirction,

^no doubt...i know my music...and my mpc1k...thing is...i dont know it all, and most times you can pick up that one little trick that'll save you time or even broden the range of how you use the mpc...i just think it would be a good idea to add in all the new features to help people out...but i guess the tutorial isnt meant to help...i dont know...whatever..do you...

Practice makes perfect......just put tha time in and it'll pay off.

I have no immediate plans to add features from an unofficial beta OS to the main 'Beat Making on the MPC1000' book. As someone mentioned above, I think most people installing this OS will be 'Power Users' who will probably not need any help (and were unlikely to buy the original book in the first place).

I'd prefer to wait on Akai to see what they intend doing with the OS themselves. I also want to see how this unoffical OS develops and how stable it becomes. All this will dictate how I handle future updates or additional upgrades applied to the ebook.

i appreciate your reply...seems resonable no doubt...i think akai might actually rip this OS off the dude and rewrite it with their paid professionals to make it nicer and smoother work flow...setup, ect...thats just how akai is to me tho...lol...if they dont, then they are gonna buy it from this guy and do the same thing...

other then that...i guess my question is answered and time will tell...thanks....
