MIDI FRUSTRATION

I'M TRYING TO USE MY MPC 2000XL AS THE SEQUENCER WHILE CONNECTED TO MY ASR -10 . I RECORDED 2 DRUM TRACKS IN THE MPC WITH THE ASR BUT WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE A THIRD TRACK WITH SOME SYNTHS , THE DRUM TRACK PLAYED USING THE SYNTHS INSTEAD OF THE DRUMS . WHY AM I NOT ABLE TO ADD ON MORE SOUNDS WITHOUT THE SEQUENCE CHANGING IF SOME COULD HELP ME WITH THIS I'D REALLY APPRECIATE IT...

i had this same problem. u gotta make sure the instrment number on the asr matches the device number on the track... also u have to make sure that ur asr is set to multi mode instead of omni. jusst got to edit/system midi and scroll till u see omni. then switch it to multi. and u should be good to. just make sure where is says something like midi:device 1 when u are transfering instrument 1 from asr. and then midi: device 2 when using instrument 2. and so on....good luck.. peace

there's also 16 channels in a midi cable.... make sure the asr-10 is sending all 16 and your MP is recieving all 16 and sending only the 1st. the asr-10 also needs to be set to recieve the 1st.
