Curious, he's changed it so that when you use the data wheel to move to the next sequence, it does this immediately. Previously, when going from sequence 1 to sequence 2, sequence 1 would play through all it's bars then 2 would start. Am I missing something? This seems strange to me?

manual slicing is awesome, but autochop isn't that great imo...

anyone found out, where you can change that a sequence will change first when it was played to the end (see Stokes posts)?

if it does that while the seq is playing, then it is a bug which should be reported. i think the idea was to change sequence immediatly when the sequencer is not playing.

Things about the 1k that still drive me mad:
(I would die a happy man if these were addressed!)
1- When you record a new part in Seq 01, you must press Stop to be able to switch to Seq 02! I hate that!! (I usually work on 3-5 sequences simultaneously, and record parts on the fly.. I like to be able to switch to the next sequence after I have recorded a part, to see the contrast between the 2 sequences.. maybe I'm the only one who does this? lol)
2- Solo should be able to um Solo multiple pads in one shot -without the need to use Shift- (hell the Electribe can do this!) this is ideal for live!
3- Shift+DataWheel: I still think this could be used in a more efficient way (than current LCD contrast which could be in Other menu), ie like Faster Scrolling through samples (and in all modes); I mean how often do you change your LCD contrast?
4- In Next Seq mode: when sequencer is stopped we should be able to change sequences from Pads. I was really hoping that JJ would have thought about this.. maybe he did.. cause when you press Pad3 it highlights Sequence03 (and "Sequence03" flashes in the bottom for half a second) but it doesn't switch to it. You have to use the data wheel to switch.. bad bad bad!

I have actually emailed these suggestions to JJ in a more systematic way (1. 2. 3.)... I can't believe that he actually fixed 2 of them!!! JJ ROCKS!

- I don't know if you guys have noticed this, but now you can switch between sequences while recording (as opposed to 1-)!! try it! F sweeet! but like Stokes and truvc said, there might be a bug, because now in MAIN the Data Wheel changes Sequences immediately before the end of the Sequence. (which is weird)
If this was availabe as an option (I mean the immediate switching in Main), it might come in handy sometimes.

- annnnd best of all, you can now change Sequences in NEXT SEQ when sequencer is stopped! which is TREMENDOUS for me!!! (as opposed to 4-)
thanks a million JJ.

BUGS:
yep, I confirm that there's something off in TRIM > Chop. My MPC froze when I was trying to convert the chopped sample to a Program. There was weird characters on the LCD screen and the MPC became irresponsive. However I couldn't reproduce it. If someone encounters this, please take notes of the steps you made to report it to JJ.

rabulisten, the beta should be installed by as many users as possible.. so that all the possible bugs can be discovered and addressed in the final release.. you shouldn't worry about the MPC freezing. It's not a big deal. It freezes, you power off/power on, that's it.

cheers.

The "ONLY" thing I want is to load/preview samples while the sequencer is playing.

By Stokes Sun Jul 23, 2006 3:28 pm
Another cool thing is that you can work on your samples in trim mode while your sequence is playing.

Anyone else having problems with NO SOUND AT ALL
after mounting USB into computer?

This only happened after I installed BETA17 and not on OS2.1.

dont know if it qualifies as a bug but it seems that auto chop (v17)misses the earliest sections of my samples. although i can chop it manually and can get it done. And i think the interface there is hard to understand as well.Wonder if JJ is planning on a quick start guide for the OS. :)

so i had my first huge crash last night. i started a beat and spent an hour and a half on it. it had over 20 sequences.

so anyways, i hit mode, save.....

SYSTEM ERROR

then it froze up like that and i had to turn it off. well, i had forgotten to save it earlier and i lost it.

i was pissed for a minute, then i went to the bank and came back and made it again.

cl516:

I also have been having some no sound issues when I connect via usb. Everything seems to be working fine. You can still see samples, programs, sequences. It's like the outputs have been turned off. If you turn the mpc off then back on it works fine.
