Change the values to whatever feels right to you. On the pad sensitivity screen you can play with each pad setting there is even a little bar that goes up and down that tells you what volume it's hitting at. Personnally I like -1.

mine were all over the place as well and it seems to have come with 1.03 pre-installed.

I just got my machine today and all I can say is; no sensitivity setting works well for me :(

If I use +4 I can reach full scale on the meters using a lot of force on PAD1 and PAD4, on the other I cannot get past half. I am terribly disappointed and my fingers hurt.

I hope this means that my unit is faulty and that I can just send it back to be fixed.

My pads all required different settings in order to hit 127 with an even thump. Some are -1 while others I had to set anywhere up to +3? Is my MPC faulty?

 My pads filed an abuse claim with the county prosecutor during testing.

i read here that akai calibrates each pad at the factory before the mpc is shipped. it might explain why some mpc's have different values on the pads.

This is a great topic! I thought I would bump it back up. Anyone got anymore cool things to add?

wow, It must have taken you a lot of digging to bringing this topic back to the first page :)

and, naa, no new hidden screens. I've tried all the combination from the 2kXL, but they don't seem to work.

Well, altough this is not a new hidden screen I did notice that when you press shift + F3 on any mode the PLAY button will light, this is very strange.

Maybe its a hidden key combination to test if the Play LED is burned.

Most of these interfaces involve a matrix of buttons & leds configured to allow hardware to use relatively few lines to control more of each(so given the mpc's 35 buttons & 15 leds doesn't require 50 signals, it probably only needs 15 to 20).

Side effects are things like 1. You can't press some buttons simultaneously and expect both things to happen or 2. if buttons & leds are mixed, some leds might light very dimly when certain buttons, or button combos are pressed.

Neither is harmful, nor can they typically be fixed by a new OS. it's just there.
