question about slicing samples

Isnt it strange that it only chops into mono , this is kind of annoying and that it has to use the left channel you switch to using the right channel .

Is there any good third party pc programs for slicing samples and making programs for the mpx 1000 .

I use Cool Edit or adobe audition their the same tho. there is Soundforge,Recycle etc.

Yeah i just foun a program called blue box seems pretty good as you can import an .akp file that you export from recylce so should realy help speed things up .

The author of Blue Box is a member on thie forum.

Basically Blue box is a program that helps you program kits and add filter settings, from the PC. You then can load up those programs via USB. It's really easy to use. Do a search on BlueBox,and you will find alot of info,also BlueBox is FReeeeeeee,but it's nice to know that people will donate a little something to show their appreciation.

If you use recycle to chop your samples it reals great as you can export your file form recycle into blue box and blue box creates a program . When you save in blue box you can save all your samples and prgm file together in a new file .

It just saves you so much time.

i noticed when i chopped my samples and laid em out on the pads, they sounded shittier than the original sample...Are you guys telling me that this is how it works?..i wouldnt have even got this fukin thing if i new i would do this...i listen to the original, then compare it to my slices, and i get so dissapointed...If i save my sample as mono with another program first will that keep some of the quality? That really really sucks..

It sux if what you want is in right channel as you cant then chop it . Thats why its so much better if possible to chop with reclycle and use blue box to keep the samples stereo

You can only view 1 waveform in trim mode, not left AND right together.

It still chops the whole stereo sample. You just don't get to view both channels together that's all.

yeah when i found out it only chops in mono i was also disapointed.

But what i do is still slice but export each slice as different wav file. This allows you to still have the chopped up slices and also have them still in stereo. Its a bit more work but it works for me.

i have heard people complaining about the mono thing but i hadn't really noticed a problem.

with beta 16 can't you view the left and the right channels in trim mode?

I have bitced this also... i have tried to get around it but i cant seem to - is this the same with other mpc's???
