Midi input: each track its own channel... no?

when im working with the 2500

say track one - i set to midi and then to 1A - go to No. and find the number from my keyboard eg base and play that

then go to track 2 - set to midi, but this time set to 2A.........again change pgm to No. and this time have a different number

and so on..........

and i've jus got the midi handshake going on with one pair of cables

I guess it goes for the 2500 aswell.

So... no multi mode!

No MPC has a multi-mode in the sense that you can treat it like a 16 channel multi-timbral synth and sequence it from an external sequencer as you would a sound module. (I am not sure if the 4000 is included in this as well).

I do recall the XL having a function to record on ALL 16 MIDI channels and/or tracks at once..if that is a feature that anyone needs.

Yeah I don't see why MPCs should'nt have that option really. Its a very simple feature. Too obvious for me, but I guess Im alone on this one

An MPC is more of a sequencer than anything else.
