Incorperating a mixer into your mpc1000 setup ?!?!?

I seriously need some help on setting up a mixer with my mpc1000 so i can record my finished tracks into my computer via cool edit pro.

do i basically just plug a lead from the mixers input socket into the mpcs assignable mix out ? just one plug? because in the manual it has a diagram of 2 cables from the mixer input sockets running to assignable mix out sockets 1 and 2 on the mpc.

Then if i incorperate a midi controller into my setup, would i just plug it directly to the mpc via midi chords i would i set that up thru the mixer as well?

Last but not least...How do i connect the mixer to the computer? Is it compuslory to get some kind of interface or can i plug it straight into the mic or headphone jack i want to be able to get quality recordings of my finished work when recording into the computers software.

Any help at all would be awesome because im struggling to figure the best way to do this

mpc individual outs to mixer channels 1, 2, 3, 4.
or
mpc main outs to mixer channels 1, 2.

mixer main outs to pc audio interface/soundcard aux/line in.

aux/line in to cep.

my setup:
mpc to triton line in.
triton optical out to digi001 into vegas.
