Hi all,  I'm a newbie who is trying to get into Drum and Bass/Hip Hop production.  I decided to save up for an MPC, since producing on a computer is gay :D .
I was considering the mpc4k, but I was told by some people (pehaps you can verify this) that the 4k would not be very well suited for a begginer, and suggested I opt for the mpc2000xl, and use the leftover money to buy add-on equiptment (ie analogue module, etc.).
What would you recomend for my situation?  feedback is well apreciated.

Cheers!

the guy from bangin beats dot com has a mpc 4000. he is from where im from and he told me he had #### near everything that came out for hip hop and it took him 2 months to just understand the 4000. i just feel if you gona get a 4000 you should already have to speakers the records the keyboards and so on. i dont see the point of starting off with mpc 4000 and you have nothing to surround it with. every body around here will tell you for the price of the 4000 you can get alot more and still get the job done. its up to where you tring to go with the music and how long you plan to take.

Thanks for the advice.  What other equipment would you use to 'get the job done' for sequencing dance music with an mpc 2000xl (including zip drive)?
