After the Basic Beat

Jus seein how most of you cats work. After you make a basic 4 bar or 8 bar beat, then what do yalls do? copy it to seq 2,3,4,5?? then song mode? how do yall make in not sound monotonous?
maybe i am asking how many of you work with puttin a song together. also if you use PT or a computer to record, do you run both computer and MPC in sync WHILE arranging? or only for recording?

Usually I make sum sequences and then I record em to pc.. I use Cool edit pro for arrangin' em... I like cool edit to finalize my beatz. (compressing, sum finalmixing, effects, etc)

I usually build a basic Seq with the hook, then copy to a new seq and delete the hook and add in whatever then. then when I covert them to songs I make the intro/outro and all that other good stuff

Make the verse or hook depending on my sample then tweak it from there with different drum patterns/fills. I only use Cool Edit once my beat is done and then track it into my computer to save as an mp3 and upload it to Soundclick.

normally ill make my loop, thats 75% of the battle. then ill just collect some more samples, switch up the main loop with either drum pattern or melody pattern variation, make like 19 loops, see what works and what doesnt, downsize and then sequence.

I start with a main loop, then make something to break up the continuity or repetitiveness of the loop but not to change the overall feel of the track, an extra loop for after it or a break or whatever, then I do an intro if the track needs it, then an outro, usually I copy the parts of the track I want to use in other sequences then I build around that by programming extra pieces or adding and taking away different samples. also when multitracking, remember that soloing certain parts or muting certain parts is good for that as well and helps to bring out certain parts of the song, like if a vocalist says something you want to emphasize you can drop out a certain part of the beat to make the words stand out...

what i do, I just make a basic drum pattern, load up different samples and pop in my favorite hip hop c.d., and just try to imitate the same sequence and sometimes i'll throw in a lil sumthin to keep the juices goin....like a different pattern for a bridge or just simply slow it down and kick it into another DRUM pattern but with the same melodies and samples....nah sayin? good luck.
