Going to Buy My First MPC1000.......few important Questions.

Just wondering about the Memory installation and about downloading new versions for the MPC.

1. Installing a 128 mb RAM upgrade will do what for the MPC? will it store more sequences?


2. What will adding a hard drive improve on the MPC?


3. How do I get new versions for the MPC, is it free?


4. Should I buy an MPC used?


5. Are there ways to make drumrolls on the MPC? or do you have to sample drumrolls?


thats all i can think of now....but any help for those questions would be very helpfull. thanks

you can load more samples at a time.

with a hd, you can store all you samples directly in your mpc. but if you switch it on, you need to load them in the mpc's ram. so don't mix up hd and ram!

yes. you get the akai-os v2.1 free from their site (www.akaipro.com/support.php) or the third party v3.01 from jj's site (www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/).

i bought mine used from ebay withour warranty. never had a problem, it works as it was new.

just allows me to load more samples into the machine? Is 20 songs the maximum? what about getting more then 99 sequences? Easy questions.

Well more RAM makes your MPC drum's sound fatter and with the harddisk you can install WINXP on your MPC.

i only see one idiot on exctasy having nothing to do in his speartime. i tried to answer your (really simple) questions as serious and proffessional as possible. if you don't like this forum use google. the whole internet is full of information about what a hd does and what ram is for. or search this forum. this question was asked like 10.000 times before.
