WAV file conversion for MPC1000 Q:

Greetings fellas, this is my first post here, so if I am posting this in the wrong place or if this thread has recently been posted i apologize.

I have downloaded/chopped up/sampled thousands of WAV file sound "kits" online and from records, cds, mp3s etc ---> wav. I recently went to the trouble of organizing all my files down to "kicks" "snares" "hi hats" (the list goes on and on)- I wasn't using tons of these sounds because of the way the kits were organized or because the filetype, so I decided this was a good way for me to have my sounds organized-- -the only programs I have are the kits i downloaded which had working program files, or the sounds I chopped and cut and assigned in MPC manually.

I have "MPC PROGRAM EDITOR" and "BLUE BOX" (*although I havent figured out Blue Box yet, and program editor seems far easier).

Here is my Q: My problem is that a lot of the files are the incorrect file format even if they are WAV, they aren't readable by the MPC.

Does anyone have an easy solution to converting all these files to the correct format of WAV all at once rather than manually 1 at a time?

Also- is there any other programs out there or easier ways to load multiple files at once and create programs without doing it manually?

I use Wavelab, it can batch-process as many files as you want at once. I´m sure there are a lot of programs (cheaper ones) that will do the trick, check out http://www.harmony-central.com/Software/ to find one.

Once I get it set up, do I just select multiple files, and then -- select "Save all as" or something?

Also=- what other programs can you use to create "programs" for MPC or is bluebox the best

Its called "Batch-Encoding", there you can select whole folders and the output format.

There was a program around thats called "mpc 1000 pc" or sth, but i never used that (or bluebox), making my programs on the mpc itself.

Another is MPC 1000 Program creator, get it from http://mpc1000.com/ .
Bluebox have more features and it's newer, but i prefer mpc 1000 pc. it's simple and works.

I got this program- I have it up and running-- what is the process path to do what I want to do?

What is the best settings for my output WAV files? There are several different options- anybody?

The manual says 44khz/16bit.

yeah thats what I was setting them at, just found it in the manual.

Also - AnalogX AutoTune works better than the WAV program mentioned above if you are just doing simple batch processing - the program above by steinberg seems to have TONS more useful settings. But AnalogX AutoTune is a free download- my reccomendation for those who need the same thing as I did, with super simple interface

Heres what I found for WAV file settings for MPC:

16bit

44 100 sps

Stereo or mono

Also it says if you are using wavlab to go to options/preferences/file and deactivate "create optimized audio file headers" or you will get a click sound at the beginning of your file.
