Here's my top tip:
To use the Q-Link sliders to adjust filter on an ENTIRE Pad Bank (or even an entire program).
Lets say you have a chopped drum beat on Pad Bank A:
1. Go to Mixer Mode (Shift Pad 8 ) and press L/Out. Assign all outputs for Bank A to 8 (shift A to quickly assign all pads).
2. On the rear panel, connect a jack cable from MPC Output 8 to the Left input.
3. Go to Input Thru, turn it ON, source: Analog, Mode: L,
4. Assign Filter 1 Type to Low Pass and put the Freq at 50. If all has gone well so far, your beat should now be coming back muffled (if it's distorted, turn down the Rec Gain).
5. Now go to Slider Mode (Shift Pad 1) and change Assign Pad to IN (scroll to the end of the list of pads).
6. Make sure Parameter is set to Cutoff1.
That's it. Q-Link Slider 1 will now control the filter cutoff for your entire drum beat (or anything you route to Output 8 ). You could just as easily use a stereo signal, using 2 of the outputs, and input Thru Mode set to ST(ereo).
For more fun, you can resample your beat whilst getting jiggy with the filter, and rechop the resulting loop. Notice that you can also apply effects to the Input Thru signal aswell.
Lots of fun
