No...its not as simple as that. Its a luv/hate relationship I actually like my 2500, especially since a 'bug' that I have had for awhile wasn't really a 'bug' at all. There is really nothing that prevents me from creating music with the 2500. But I keep it real. If I uncover something that I don't like, the forums are the first place you will hear about it.

Actually, I am not waiting for Akai to fix basic bug fixes. The MPC 2500 is solid for me now that I have found the source of my major problem.

While you are sorting through 'bugs' in hopes of getting the OS the 2500 already has, I am satisfied with my model. So yes, it hurts me to see 1K users having to sort through all this BS just to get an OS that makes the 1K worth using.

Only thing that bothered me about the 1k OS was the Amp Env bug.
That's fixed with 3.0, i'm satisfied.

If you were satisfied, you would not be hanging around here in the 2500 forum (doing everything but making tracks)..still wishing for one

Good try at a joke..but I know how a sustain pedal works. I just didn't realize that the sustain pedal was connected to the keyboard in addition to that, I didn't know it was broken sending sustain messages even when the pedal is not pressed

SO now, the biggest headache has been resolved, I can't wait for the next new MPC arrives so I can cop one just to joke with the 4000 users that are trying to program their own OS

Anyway...good luck with your MPC 1000. Not matter what you guys do with it/or to it...it will never be an MPC 2500

You've got some reading up to do. The new OS didn't break anything, it's adds functions and some of them need to be fine tuned. That's why it's called beta.
As a 2500 user you should know about beta testing.

I didn't know you were that interested. So to answer your question..there is no one in 'control' of the studio. Who ever is in the studio first is in control.

Latest version is more stable then the average Wik-Wik-Wakai OS you're waiting for. With plenty of short-cuts that you don't even have. But you wouldn't know, you're to cheap to get your kids that 'great MPC' as a toy.

honestly man I find both machiens usefull.....I would grab a 1000 to go on the road seems fun and small...aswell i love to come home to the big pads like a fat MOM

Correction...one month ago I was ready to replace it because..a unique system test error (the latest OS fixes that) and the note duration 'bug' (my error)...so what's your point? I replace (not just sell) items that don't fit my needs..because I can. There is nothing that would make me want to get what you are using. Implying I want one is ludacris

Actually the bug list proves nothing. Every single bug is not reported in the bug list of any company. And that list does not say that the bugs are specific to enhancements. If you want to continue to dream about the 1000 being superior to the 2500..by all means, continue to do so. Enjoy your poor man's MPC as much as you like. My son wants an alto-sax. He will have it this week. If he wanted an MPC, I would buy him a 2500 or 2000XL. I don't have time trying to glue a piece of gear back together. He would need something that he can bang away on and it not break.

So if you do that math (you can add right)....That is at least $1400 in musical instruments for the kids...another $1K to finish school clothes shopping....a couple hundred for my college books....you already seen the pics of my new double monitor set-up.... Wow..that is a grip of cash. Don't you wish you parents took/take your music ambitions serious I still have room in my heart for a foster kid. You are potty trained right?
