Hi,

So I've got an MPC 60II, OS 3.1 maxed out with SCSI (Iomega zip).

I've also got a spare zip drive which I can connect to my laptop (pc/win xp) via usb...

Searching the web, various sites (including the hosts of this forum) suggest that it's possible to convert wav files etc into snd files and put them onto a floppy or zip drive using a program called MPC Editor V3...

I've tried to install this, with no success, I keep getting messages about unregisterable files (ocx files)... is this because it predates sp2 for xp?

Anyone got any idea how I can go about doing something like this?

Omniflop for floppy drives apparently works and can convert akai formats... anything for a zip drive, given that the computer will need to be able to read and write an akai formatted disk...?

Anyone had any success with MPC Editor or similar?

Very frustrated...

Cheers,

jonny

I had no problems loading it into my laptop with sp2.

Did you have it over 30 days?

no, just got it... need it to read and transfer files using a zip drive... which xp can't read except using a program like this.

There's another one out there called Chicken Systems Translator... which claims to do all of this, but it costs $149! There's a free version (limited) but I don't know...
