This is a good point.
When I buyed my MPC secoundhand, it has also distortion on the Sound.
It seems the MPC was a longer time not in use. ( Did yours?)
So I figured out it was the RAM that fitts not proberly the slot.
I take it out and put it in a few times, to clean up the oxitation on the contacts.
Maybe this is a try worth.
