assighning tracks to 8 outs

i dunno, but is it possible to assign entire tracks to one of the outs on the MPC? For example, lets say i have track 1 as all my kicks, and i assign it to out1, then track 2 using midi 2A as my piano, and asign it to out2. etc...

yup, that's what the 8-outs is for. however, i believe you can only assign tracks that only have one sample to them; so rather assigning a track to an out, you're assigning a pad to an out. ALSO, if you're using midi, i'm assuming the unit has it's own outputs (that you can't route through your MPCs outs).

You can sort of assign a whole track to an out, if you first assign an individual program to it, then assign all pads of that track to an individual out. So the outs are rather linked to the program than the track.

You can select all pads of a bank quickly by pressing Shift+Pad Bank.

Yeh...the pad things is great, dont get me wrong, but it would be nice to be able to assign entire tracks to an out. that way, if a track is completely midi data, you wouldnt have to record it into the MPC, then truncate, then assign to pad, and so on for every sample. what yall think?

I don't know what you mean. Why do you want to assign Midi tracks to an individual out?

because that way, rather than recording a synth sound and then assigning to a pad, you can directly run the synth track to an out without the hassel of recording, truncating, assining to a pad, and then playing it again....
For example, in my case, i use pro tools. once i come up with a synth melody, i have to record, truncate, assign, and then remake every intrument i used. Then i have to assing the selected pads to the corresponding outs.
What i would like to do, is record a midi chanel (or in my case a melody from the synth), and avoid the hassel of recording, truncating, assigning, etc...

Why care about getting it in the MPC at all? Just record it into your PC directly from the synth like you would the MPC.

The only thing that's possible (on the 2500) is to plug the synth into your Record In, and play it via Input Thru. This can be set to the different pairs of indiv. outs then. You can't set these outs according to the active track however.

yeh, see, thats what i do right now. And i would hook synth up directly to the Pro tools interface directly, however, the synth ony has 1 main out. kinda sux when your playing 5 differnet instrument and you wanna do pro tools editing to all of them. Egh, no big deal. thanx for the input though...

Yes, audio out of the 8out board.

No, Audio would come from you piano and go into your mixer, that audio would never touch the mpc.

You are STUCK with that or get a keyboard that has several outputs for that multitrack purpose.

No. Midi tracks cannot go to an individual out, audio goes to individual outs.
