just sold my mpc1k for a 2000xl..so psyched!!

I wasn't really feeling the whole 1k situation so I sold it, and I just bought an mpc2000xl with:

I am so excited! I payed $800, do you guys think this was a good deal?

Not bad....

I just picked up a 2000XL with 2 mb of ram and a 100 mb zip, for 650....Got ram for 10 bucks, got a card reader for 60 and got a 1 gb card for 20 bucks. So total i spent 720.

Oh yea i forgot i got 5 zip disks full of samples to.

Secret: Offer people on ebay straight up prices for there auctions. It works alot of times. Guy took the offer of 650 straight up.

did the same thing a couple of months back. never regretted it. i miss some functions like recording while playing though.... but i love it! I'm still gonna buy the 1000 next to my 2kxl for traveling and ish. especially with the 3th party os 3.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll miss the portability of the 1000, but I think this is the better choice overall.

Good work....I like my 2000xl better than the 1000 I had. And that's with the minimum RAM installed, like 10 seconds!!! LOL now thats OG!!

Too bad you won't have the 2 side by side, then you will feel more confident about the 2kxl. Better mix engine, cleaner sound.

I also got rid of my 1k in favour on the 2kxl!! I bought a fully loaded se1. I can say that for me the move was a positive one, the build quality and sound are alot better, If you know how to use the 1k then the move will be easy.

I have not missed any of the extra features from the 1k os2 as they were for the most part very poorly implemented, useless crap e.g. the clicky patch phrase and rubbish filter automation, and the pads dont get me started on them!!! youve made the right choice.

You're gonna love your XL. When it comes in make sure you check EVERYTHING before you leave feedback, and if the item wasn't as described, demand a refund. If you paid through PayPal, there are a few protection policies that'll help you out. Buying on eBay is a good thing, but you never know what you're getting until you actually receive it.

I'm gonna be using the zip drive, but the 2kxl reads 3.5" 2HD floppies right? cuz those are the ones I see most the time.

try to update yourself to an internal card reader. the prices of memory cards are so inexpensive now more than ever.

I had my 1k for a month before I decided I wanted a 2kxl.....I had them both for about another month or 2 until I finally sold the 1k and personally, I don't think you are missing out on having them both at the same time....When I got my 2kxl, the 1k sat on the floor in the corner....It was a really great dust collector though!!!!
