looks like you're in the wrong part of the forum for simple questions.....

before you start though, your gonna need two midi cables, and some way to monitor the output of your synth and the mpc (a mixer?)

connect your mpc midi out to your synth midi in, and connect your synth midi out to your mpc midi in. this is know as the "midi handshake" and refers to the most basic midi connections.

connect your mpc and synth audio outputs to a mixer, so you can monitor both together.

on your synth, find out how to turn local control off so that when you press a key you hear nothing.

now you're ready to go!

on the mpc track you are using select the correct midi input your synths midi out is connected to so you can record the notes. also select the midi output that your synths midi in is connected to, so you can now hear your synth as you hit the keys. set this to the midi channel (1-16) you want to use on your synth.

is that enough?

Even thou i turned all locals to off i can still hear the music coming out from the synth speakers. The only thing i can do so that i hear nothing when i press a key is "note off", but then nothing comes out from the monitors either.. I got cables from the synths line out to mixers line in, right? what can be the problem? bad shit synth?
