"If it ain't broke don't fix it"
Wake up folks, 2.0.1 is broke since January. Don't you ever use the Amp Env on your drums?
Also make sure you're not changing cursor position with the shift and arrow keys in LFO or DELAY screen. Unless you like those psychedelic CPU Address Error screens.

**valentin**, you'll get 3.0 when its officially dropped by akai...? I hope you brought food, drinks and a warm sweater.

"I'm used to the old layout"
How many of you have loaded 3.0 to check the changes yourself? The layout has minor changes and all of them are for the better (especially in Load/Save)

soulscientist, about your compatibility question. Think about it: 3.0 is compatible with 2.1 which in turn is compatible with the 2500. So why would 3.0 not be compatible with the 2500? JJ And The Renegades are not stupid.
Nothing has changed in data format, it's still the same old .PGM .ALL .WAV etc files. Tested it myself by loading 3.0 programs in 2.0.1, no problem.
But if you wanna make sure, why not try yourself instead of asking others.

I don't care which OS people use, but some of the statements in here are based on some strange kind of fear. For what?

If the 3rd party OS is all that, Akai will profit from increased MPC sales....you do realize this.

Also, what if...the programmer of this 3rd party OS, actually works for Akai or is a affiliated with Akai  Then you have been hoodwinked (I think that is the term) into paying for an OS update that should be free or at the least...just beta testing the OS that they will eventually release anyway. (which we are doing already..no? ).

Bottom line...Akai will make out no matter what..which is a good thing, no?

I getting a little tempted to try out the 3.0 beta, but is the direct record working properly? I read somewhere that it wasn't yet

Cowbell> I think i am a "victim of the pathetic 2.1 Amp Env bug" without even knowing it... I haven't notieced anything or had any error. If you could enlighten one more soul i would be thankful.

About compability, so if i make abeat on 3.0 i can load it in a machine with 2.1 and it will load fine? Sounds cool, then i should really try out 3.0

By ghostofnym Tue Aug 01, 2006 11:17 pm
yeah it's working good
but with mtc and acid, direct recording is best outsourced to your daw.

as for the amp envelope release, it's like this ---

OOOOOooooo........SHHIFAHEF

I really like recording on my mpc instead of my pc, its actually the main reason i got mpc1000 and gettin rid of my 2kxl.

It's an interesting description of the amp env. bug you did, sounds like a bad bug...

Akai will profit either way...

I am doing that now. They are members of the forums  You do care or you wouldn't have taken the time to respond to me or mention what Akai needs to do. They are doing something right because you spent your money on an MPC...right? Back to the topic...

I still use 2.1 also.I will consider 3.0 when its final and stable.

Which is smart...let the other guys beta test it for you while you are creating music..if that is where your ambitions are at..versus trouble shooting an OS...
