You and me both, 007.

You are aware of the Program # select field on the main screen, right? This sends Program Changes. (though it seems to be buggy in OS3...) Make sure not to be recording when you flip through patches, though, as it will record the datawheel motions as Program Changes too. You can disable this by hitting Window and then turning Send Program Change off, or whatever the field is called. It'll be obvious. But then it won't reload your synth for you upon loading, so that's no good. Anyway...

Say what?

Yeah, I mean even if all they did was sell downloads (for major version changes...) from their site with PayPal, they'd bank on it. They have to realize that whether they (or anyone else) likes it or not, software is the future of music.

i'd like the possibility to have SEQ + or SEQ - by a combination of keys (would really help when making levels in the mpc for instance). also something i said in another thread would be nice : a kind of " program lock" that is to say the fact that the program in your track won't change if you go in program mode or if you press overdub. As you can see it's just basic features.

realistic ones:

1.ability to switch sequences while time counter keeps going.
2.Tracks can have individual loop times in the sequence.
3.A second implimentation of direct record can be selected where "midi" and "drum" are in the main screen like the 2500. As well as having the direct recording automatically be assigned as a loop or phrase to a program/pad.
4.the ability to select mono or stereo when slicing a stereo sample
5. lfo values and mute group values in the mode+pad11 screen
6. more fx types
7. improved way to manage files and folders in the save and load screens
8. the ability to have qlink sliders send cc messages through midi in real time and record them.
9. the ability to assign the analog in and specific out's as an fx loop named fx3. This fx loop will work as the fx1@2 do (assigned to certain tracks/pads with on/off, pan and level adjustment) but will work with outboard gear.
10. the ability to merge samples without having to re-record through main out.
11. the ability to merge fx/filters/lfos to a sample without having to re-record through main out.
12. real autochromatic keyboard option.
13. selectable presets for fx (individual or combos), lfo's, etc. that can be saved and recalled from internal memory at startup.

*I know presets for the fx can be loaded from autoload, but to have individually named selectable presets for other features like filters, programs and lfo's selectable (and changeable) from startup would make setting things up much faster and more effective.

un-realistic ones:

1. the ability to take advantage of the entire memory of the 256mb chip that some of us have installed.
2. a usb through box that offers more in/out options
3. a close to realtime (at least constantly updating) graphical interface for pc @or mac through usb.
4. elastic audio editing option (realtime timestreching between hitpoints using selected time sig/tempo, not slices)
*this would have to be saved as a new sample after being finalized, since realtime playback of this feature would eat up too much of the mpc's cpu.
5. selectable sample/bit rate in sampe edit menu (to emulate 12bit or 8bit converters with different sample rates.)

edit: on the realistic side more lfo types, lfo options and just plain more assignable lfo's per pad or to other destinations like fx would be great.

"I wish i could program Program changes from the main screen."

I mean also bank select on the main screen, should had been clearer on that.

Oh yeah, that'd be great. Inserting the CCs manually isn't that bad, but that would be cool.

007, have you had problems with OS3 sending Program Changes to Program 0 all of the sudden? I've reported this in the bugs thread but no one has responded to it. I think most folks are in-the-box only.

No more problems for me with the Program Change. Only hate it to look away from my mpc when i want a sound from bank B on my Virus. There is a nice spot right next to the Program Change field on the MAIN screen where the Bank select could come.

This would help me alot and more people 2 that have synths with more than 1 bank think that 99% of all synth's have more than 1 bank.

And of course all those other features mentioned would be great. The LFO modulation is a def wanna have.

Peace

they don't.
if it had it would'nt be on the wanted list 8)

I'm assuming the purpose of screensaver is to preserve the backlight.

I'm not sure it's possible to turn off the backlight via software - usually this is hardwired. Meaning you could add a switch ;) Be careful though cause the voltage for the backlight can be >50 Volts.

Still, I'm not sure it's really neccessary - the backlight on mpc1000 will last a very very long time.

not sure either.
a screenblanker feature is to preserve the screen, not the light.
theres to many old samplerLCDs with **** up pixels.
i'ts common to just use the contrast to blank, but its more conveniant have it automatic set to 60 minutes

That doesn't seem very usefull to me when you are able to set program polyphony to MONO (program > params > play > mono).
