How come you don't see 1k's in professional studios?

who cares if someone with a big name got it, its about you and what you can perform with this machine.. most likely are all of the ''famous'' dudes working with other setups cuz the 1k is quite new..

anyway i saw that DJ Romes from lootpack uses a 1k in a little docu..

Some cats like Jerry Wonder has 2 2oooXLs, a 3oooLE, a 25oo, and both versions of the 1ooo.
Most older producers use the same equipment that they've always used more often than not (Primo still uses the 6o and he has like 8 of them in case one gets stolen/destroyed/doesn't work), but a lot of newer producers are starting to use them as an alternative to software.

Not warm & phat enough for pro most producers, but on the plus side it's very portable.

why isnt the sp303 in every big studio?

madlib uses one..and he's one of the baddest beatmakers ive ever heard.

its not the machine that drives the beatmaker..it the beatmaker driving the machine..remember that.

i think the reason it isnt in a lot of studios is the fact its new - and i just go by the quote "it if it aint broke - dont fix it" - so if these guys have been working with same machines, they'll just stick with them...........also - i think a big reason for people wondering what producers use what equipment is so they know what they are capable of when purchasing these thousand dollar machines - i got what you were sayin though mc denzel - diggin the name by the way haha!! check out my site www.myspace.com/ziggyproductions06

The mpc 4000 is 96khz quality opposed to the 1000 which is 48khz. its still good but theres better. roland makes an awsome lookin machine its up there next to the 4000

I'm gonna go ahead and be picky and point out that the 1000 is actually 44.1kHz, not 48.

Not that it matters, but to the person who started this thread, I pose the question, "how many studios have you been in/seen, because I have seen plenty of 1000's floating around."

I saw Jurrasic 5 last night, and they did a small section of the show where all 5 of them (Cut Chemist not included) sat at school desks and rocked beats.
In the desks were 1K's, so I think it's more of a Live situation machine.
