using reason as a sound module with the mpc

i read an interview of pruoducer d.r. period, and he recommended Reason to producers on a budget because it has sound modules, mixer, and a drum machine all in one and its under 200 bucks. has anyone used reason with the mpc as a sound module? if so you do you hook it up to your mpc?

what does the mpc and reason manual say about this?

Lots of people do this. If you check out the MPC1000 forum, there's a video about this which I think goes into some detail. The thread of interest is here:

Basically, if you want to sequence Reason from the MPC, you'll need to attach the MIDI out of your MPC to your PC's MIDI in, and then instruct Reason to look at the PC's MIDI in. Of course, I'm assuming that your computer has a MIDI input; if not, you'll need to get a MIDI interface.

Now, if you want to listen to both the MPC and Reason at the same time (which I guess you do ), then the simplest route is to get a small mixer, and feed the MPC audio outputs and computer audio outputs into that, and then hook your amplifier/speakers up to the audio output.
