Akai Tech sucks!! maybe you are more knowledgable?...

Ok so I ve been using my MPC 2000XL with protools for years (Using MTC)
I just upgraded to a MPC 2500 and no way to get this freaking machine to sync to protools!!
worth!!! when I try to trigger it from protools, it makes my MPC act all weird and I can't press play or play from start anymore!!??
I have to restart and it happens again... i called the tech support who straight up told me he had NO clue !!!....
reat...
Anybody can help??
I have my MPC slave 1 MTC and MMC on ad protools MTC on and MMC on jus like before with my 2000xl (and it worked for years!)

...what I wound up getting is a MOTU Fastlane midi/usb converter. Install the MOTU, plug in USB to computer, make sure it reads in ProTools, then set the MP to slave and run midi in. For a while I had it flipped and was running midi out of the mp, and the MP was acting all weird, with the numbers flickering all over the place. My friend uses this MOTU hookup and passed along the info to me, now it works wonders.

bu why wouldn t it work with my current midi in (m audio 1814) when the mpc 2000xl was working jus fine?? and why does it freezes all the play controls?

..my MP was acting like that when I plugged the Midi into the out as opposed to the in. Once I ran in it was alll gravy. Good luck.

Can you try using the MPC as master as i'm sure there is a bug with MTC that wont allow the MPC to be slaved with OS 1.21. I think it works fine with 1.20 but then you risk the 'System Test' bug, lol

Read through this. I and others found that the MPC could be used as a master with MTC but NOT as a slave.

if you are using 1.2 or 1.21 then their is a midi bug that makes your ish early when u sync it to a daw

I use 1.21 I thought u could only use th mpc 2500 as a slave?? it doesn t even allow me to cange the settings to master. I gfot it to wrk as a midi clock but no MTC

o snap i got the same interfase... and i almost bought pro tools.. whoa... i hope i dont have this prob if i ever buy it.. but let me read the rest of this thread to fidnd out what to do if it does haapen to me..thnx
