This guy's setup is pretty basic (I think) but very nice. I would like to go in this direction for my setup.
I'm wondering if anyone has some insight to what he has going on here.
I've got lots of vinyl and I've been playing keys for a long ass time (10+ years), but I'm a n00b when it comes to MIDI and other hardware setup. I don't have access to the manual for my keyboard (fantom), so I've been stuck just sampling records to make beats for a while.
Specifically;
How is the PC integrated with his other gear, what software would you say he is running?
How is the 2000xl integrated with his other gear, how does he scroll through so many sounds with just the jog wheel?
How is the keyboard setup to play samples chromatically (setup in the keyboard or in the MPC?)
I really want to get into the composition side of things, selecting smaller oneshot samples and using them to make my own song.
Thanks anyone who can shed some light on the setup in this vid.

His mpc is used as his drum machine and sequencer. He has all of his sound modules daisy chained to the mpc most likely. The software he's using is pro tools and it's only used for tracking his beats. How he's using the wheel to change sounds on his sound modules is called using msb/lsb program changes. And the keyboard which is a kurzweil k2661 has a great sampler if i'm correct the sampler has a feature where you can sample a note and it spreads it across the keys like kontakt.

Oh I get it now I didn't get that the keyboard was a sampler too. What parts of his setup would work with the 2000 classic and which would not?

That's nice, I never saw another thread about it and since my questions are regarding this video specifically I decided to make a new thread with the link as a reference.
