the track mute system is better now, and more clear.

man, i think im gonna install this os this weekend. The grid edit is really what im wanting. But those other features are looking pretty good also. And the os will be running for 25-30 or so right? But im guessing there wont be a pdf or anything with new features listed, huh?

I'm guessing it probably won't be (the developer's obviously trying hard to make it bug-free, but software rarely is), but I also have the feeling that the wonder-dev will continue to fix things as they're brought to his attention.

yes your right, and also the fact that the "final version" is supposed to include new features, which have not being tested by us

but anyway, i think the man has show us about being serious and taking care about the devellopement of his products, so we may hope that every bugs reported will be soon or later fixed.

I've been reading all the posts and after some pages I was installing the OS, you all remember when waiting for the 2.0 and looking to the plugins at JJ's page sayin bah that's not official, not from akai... and now JJ has proved can do great things.

But here are things not completly clear... I'm soft developer and I know how difficult is to do reverse engineering on a program, I don't know how JJ's build this OS but almost sure it can be without the source... so who is this guy? I don't know.

All of you know about the Play station emulators for pc and other emus, etc, this are grat works of reverse enginering and some of them are still WIP... so I have tested this OS and it really seems a piece of akai's labs in some points.

Yeah, those emulators are alot of fun. I've been into game emulation since MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) came about in '97, and I still enjoy it alongside all the other console emulators as well.

The possibility of JJ reverse-engineering the MPC1000 OS may be true indeed.
I'd like to think so anyway, since there seems to be nothing Akai has done to stop him.

Maybe someday, we'll be able to play Space Invaders run by an MPC version of MAME. Who knows? That would be cool to have just for the hell of it.

Anyway, let's just hope that JJ isnt part of some experiment with Akai in order to make money from a new OS. If that were true, it would further damage Akai's reputation. Shady business like that will bite just about any company out there. I really doubt Akai would want to shoot themselves in the foot like that.

I'm sure that every reproduceable bugs will keep being reported as they are confirmed. Not every beta will address or fix every existing bug, given the complexity of certain bugs. So in time JJ's team will correct everything, as I'm sure they won't release the retail version until everything has been taken care of. Just keep an eye on the buglist thread. You'll notice theres much less bugs to report. So that may have some people asking themselves the same question you just did. We're getting closer and closer to perfection, thanks to everyone involved.

So apparently "MPC1000 NEW OS (Trial edition)" is out but we can't just download it. OK, so what do we do to get this / pay for it / anyone know how this works?

　　4 ) AUTO CHROMATIC ASSIGNMENT (during additional job)

With autochromatic, MTC/MMC, and direct record, that's everything I ever wanted! Too bad my 1K is still on back order!!!!!! Come on Akai, ship some 1ks to your distributors so people can give you money!!

im still using the original os for my 1000. i never upgraded because i do most of my stuff in the computer. howver, last night i got my first midi slopiness ever. it was on some hats and it drove me crazy. anyways, does the new beta fix these timing issues? thanx for any help....
