aight,...my jogweel is a little loose or sumthin.....it scrolls completely fast and perfect clockwise....but counterclockwise goes slow or will scroll the wrong way on the screen....'

is it safe to take apart the MPC to see if anythings loose?

like if i unscrew it or take of the front plate will all kinds of chips and cords fall out of place?

If you have a experience in disassembling (and reassembling :)) computers and don't use a hammer as your main tool then you should be fine.

Yes, everywhere, you will need a protractor, 4 rubberbands and an empty soap dish to keep track of everything that falls out.

Nah, you'll be fine, just pay attention to what your doing and you'll be fine.

For example...I've had my mpc for 2 weeks now (it's my first one) and I already opened it twice.Yesterday I installed one very handy option myself and everything is all right :)
Thanks to this forum of course and midicase.com - very helpfull !! I've learned a lot.

take your time and you'll be fine

Mos def check out http://www.mpc2000xl.com/ and read all the info on disassembling your MPC.
Definitely have it unplugged before doing anything to it.
