this bug has to be fixed, i spent too much for this black beauty to suffer a bullshit like this one...first time i see a machine with such bugs as this one & system test!!!

Really? Have you used the earlier operating systems for products that are similar to the MPC? (EMU SP12/1200, Ensoniq ASR-X, Roland MV-8000, etc)....or even previous MPC models?

Patience, my friends, patience. I'm sure Akai is currently working on one right now. I mean, do you really think this is a good look for them, the way people talk about their newest unit? It's bad for business, so I'm sure the higher folks at Akai are whipping the little programmers to get this shit out faster.

I dont know EP. A gllitch like that should have been fixed and released at least with 1.21 I mean that is just ignorant this is a on going issue for a long time. We got a whole list of fixes but what does it all mean if you cant save it the way you need to? I mean if we are given the option to do it and it dosnt work fix it. I was speaking to a akai tech about via email and he blew me off after he promised me a phone call to trouble shoot it. He acted as if I didnt know what I was talking about in a couple of his emails which led to him saying he was going to call but of course NOT.
It should be sooner than later because now Im thinking that they fukin wit us too much now.

On the wrong file error messages, AKAI has responded:

"We have heard of this anomaly every once in a while, but have not been able to reproduce it on a regular basis. Question for you though…does this error occur when saving to only the Hitachi hard drive, or can you reproduce this error when saving to the CompactFlash card?

In any case, I have forwarded your finding on to the Development Team…hopefully they can reproduce the error using your method. If so…I’m sure that this is something which could be rectified in a future software update.

For now…my best suggestion would be not to overwrite files."

Which is exactly what many have suggested here.

I tried saving and re-writing for hours..and I couldn't produce it consistently. They do know about it, and hopefully it will be fixed. But the bottom line..don't overwritev for now. Its as simple as that. Save it to a new folder and delete the other. There are things that deserve a higher priority...just my opinion..

pffff..... i know its not them guys tech guys fault, must be something to do with budget cuts, and the fact that we stupid consumers keep buying buggy gear and don't stand together to put pressur on the companies to obtain the real value of what we pay for...

I think it has nothing to do with budget cuts. If Tech Support said that your hard drive is not supported, either he/she didn't look it up correctly (or not at all) or you gave them the wrong model number. Budget cuts would not factor into someone passing off info as simple as that..I would think.

I can gripe as well as the next. But you do realize there are very few products on the market that are similar. And they have their own quirks. We have choices...not to buy these products..or buy them and when we come across issues, report them. Which has already happened. There has been some progress made with OS updates and we have received several improvements. I believe the 2500 is headed in the right direction.

sure lets stay positive.

i said budget cuts because i meant that they might have not worked on the os as much as they should have, "maybe" due to lack of time/money.

From using the MPC 2500 since its release and reporting issues to Akai...every major issue has been fixed and new features have been added.

I don't think this problem will be any different.
