That's not really unreasonable. Businesses do it all the time to build interest in their products. From DVD players to video game systems to movies.

I ordered the padkontrol...I can't wait for those dumb asses at Akai.

im going to do the same..

yes jah, i am fuming. i dont understand why they even mentioned that this is coming out if they are no where near done with testing it.. thats just dumb.

they should only talk about a release date ONLY after all testing has been completed.

they have to gauge the the publics demand for the item before they start the first production run.

Take my word for it, the padkontrol sucks! get something else if you HAVE to have something today or else your whole world will collapse around you. The Trigger Finger is better than the padkontrol, neither is great.

It's funny how pissed people get over when a piece of gear is announced and released. I remember when companies used to show stuff that never came out. They showed it to see if they could sell them. Now days it's probably because of problems getting parts or because the chinese manufacturers who build all this gear are backlogged making blenders, stereos and other stuff.
If something doesn't come out or comes out late, how does that stop you from getting work done?

I've had two friends who saw the MPD at Music Messe and Summer NAMM and they confirm that it blows away the others. I will wait until it's here, if it doesn't come, I'll use something else in the mean time and not lose any sleep over it.

I owned the TF...and it was ok. I have tried the Korg and it was fine... I don't know why you hate it so much. FM magazine had no Cons for the Padkontrol...that is rare.

ya'll need to calm down....from what the rep told me there is a delay because they are trying to make sure the machine is durable and made of good quality. he says they are trying to make sure it blows something like the padkontrol and trigger finger away.

would u rather have something now with ghostin midi notes or something that actually plays right? i still will probably have to use my trigger fingewr and if i can't take it, i will end up buyng a used 2000xl as my pad controller.

look at os 2.1 for the mpc 1000.......the log wait and bam.....it was worth it. just give them some time and i'm sure you will enjoy the product.

if you are using ableton live then you would have midi effects that surpass the usual note repeat.....give the demo a try......you can rig it so whatever you tap can be repeated.

Another way to look at it...is that it is only $200...so I can buy t when it comes out...even if I buy the PadKontrol now.

The padkontrol build is really bad. It's flimsy feeling. The Trigger Finger feels more solid. On a product that you are beating on, flimsy is not good. The plastic is really thin.
It only has two pots, the MPD and Trigger Finger both have a lot more controllers.

It just doesn't measure up. I'm not all emotional about it, I wanted one, but after I felt it I said no way.

tru dat.

i just tried the padkontroller and it feels like its so girly and looks like fairy's padkontroller..

pads are smaller i think it is made for electronic musicians people who are more in to techno/trance etc but u can't play pads that fast so lolz...

also the touch pad thing on padkontroller is like 2inch by 1inch lolz. that smaller than a cigrate box. what u gona touch and feell..

about that Flanger knob u can set that on MPD24 as well.

ok now trigger finger =TF..

i think its good but MPD24 has more features and the MMC controles and LCD just takes the #1 trophy...

i am gona order mine in few weeks from sweetwater.com or zzound.com or musician's friend.com some net place. i think. so i can get free shiping and no taxes.
