I have had the fantom for a minute, but I just got the 2500. I did everything as far as midi in midi out etc. I press record on the mpc and then i play a melody. The melody sounds normal until I play it back in which the mpc speeds to notes up and distorts them real bad. I try to push stop but the fantom and 2500 freeze up. I have know idea what is goin on. I would appreciate if someone could help me.

Yes, you need to give more info. If you have the MPC and the Fantom connected via MIDI only, the MPC should not effect the quality of sound from the Fantom at all.

If you have the Fantom connected to the MPCs analog or digital inputs, than that's a different story.

You should write back how you have everything connected as well as what you are trying to accomplish.

Yeah, what Jahrome said. I have a similar setup, except with a Triton instead of a Fantom. But the easiest way is to have your MIDI cables running from your MPC to your Fantom, then run your audio cables from your Fantom directly to a mixer. That way, the MPC does not affect the actual audio coming from the Fantom at all. All the MPC does is controls MIDI information. If this is how you have it setup, then the issue has nothing to do with your MPC.

1- turn quantizing OFF when laying synth tracks

2- change the track on the mpc to no program and the correct midichannel.

3- dont change the channel on the fantom before you do on the mp.

-learn about midi.
