Yes I did a search first...
Simple question: Is the s950 usually a lot quieter than the 3000??? I have to crank the volume to 11 on my mixer just so it can compete with the outputs on tthe 3000. Love the sound, tho

It is a little bit quiter but are you sampling to right behind the ! on the S950?

You mean the dots? I have sampled all the way up to the end of the dots but it's still quite a bit softer. Thanks
One other thing that's bothering me, I can't get the "one shot" function to work so samples only play when the pad or key is held down. If anyone has and idea about that, I would appreciate it. Thanks

The one shot function just plays the sample without looping. To get it to play the whole sample without holding down the key or pad you need to turn the release up all the way.

I figured it out. The One Shot was designed to play the whole sample through precisely for the use with external sequencer ie: MPC. You have to turn it on on pg 15 of prg edit. The release trick didn't seem to work for me. Thanks for your help, though.

How do you set a sample to play Mono instead of Poly like on the MPC?
Thanks

make it cut itself off there is no mono poly setting. you have to know what the outputs do. read the manual.

It's not a trick... It does work, you probably just turned up the wrong release setting.

I guess it only works in the separate outs, not the mono-mix. Thanks anyway. We should have a separate section for older Akai samplers besides "studio environments" which is too broad a topic.

As for the volume issue..make sure you got the Loudness setting on 50 instead of 0, which is the default setting after sampling.

To get to it hit "EDIT SAMPLE" and then goto page 3
