no it just makes you do it differently.

delete the notes in the sequence where you want the track "muted"
same thing, + if forces you to think outside of the 1 sequence beat

Im not sure, but i think its possible somehow to assign it to a q-link. Its not the best but i think it would work the same. Think of it as a turntable fader.

heres what i do for track mutes..

say you have a certain sample you want to mute...lets say its pad 14

i like making my last bank D a track mute bank...how so...

on the pad bank D i make all the pads...1-16 cancel out my sample bank A samples (MODE PROGRAM/PARAMS/MUTE TARGET...

this way as the seqence is playing, i press the pads that will cancel out the sample...and there ya go...recording track mutes naVi style..

save your money on the 4k and by yourself a golden motorcycle...one yall, ahh yeah beta 17...

SONG MODE + Step Edit

upgrade to a 4000 becuase you don't want to bother your fingers with pressing a few more buttons?

there's more to working in realtime than just pressing a few more buttons.. step edit is tedious and not how ilike to compose :P

that's a clever work-around Navi..
