scsi not ready?

I just got my 2000xl in from ebay and when i powered it on i tried to load a cd into the scsi cd-rom external and when i go to load the cd it says SCSI NOT READY What can i do to fix this problem mpc-forums?
iM NEW TO THIS MACHINE please help

Why can no one answer this question. I would'nt have to ask twice if you helped me the first time. Im sure this can be solved

is the cd rom even compatible? i was NEVER able to get an external cd rom to work with my 2k.

even if i disconnect the dc rom drive it says scsi not ready

I wouldnt be in such a hurry if i did'nt really need to know. Stayin on topic, Do u have knowledge about this problem or just wise a#$ remarks?

What type of scsi drive is it?

Do you have a pic to post so that I/we can see if it has the correct connections in back?

Not all drives are compatible with mpc's.

Is it set to the correct scsi id?

Does it even have a switch in the back for a scsi id?
