Yeah i know what your saying im getting quick with it to be fair but there are times when you need to use the slice function to get the right effect you no what im saying?

i cant see why sombody would ever use slice or auto slice on the new os if this is the effect it has. saying that u could use it creativley i suppose - gotta try and see a positive out of this

Is auto slice the same as simply dividing a sample into 16 equal regions?

Is auto slice the one that detects transient peaks?

I've been using the divide into 16 regions one, and I'm not sure if I notice that the sound quality changes. I recently started wondering why I get freaking clicks in my samples, cuz I KNOW my samples ain't got clicks in them.

But it's a good thing to know that extracting by hand should be problem free.

I think auto slice is the one on the new unofficial OS - that detects the hitpoints simmiler to recyle or somthing like that

but i was talking about slice where you can choose how many peices you want the sample you can divide into (anything from 1 to 64 i think on the 1000)- and then you can adjust those regions before converting it into a program or a patch phrase

Never tried dividing it i dont know if you mean the same thing as me or there might be another method i have not looked at yet

you can still get the same effect,,,first you do the slice thing,,you know, where you divide it how you want it, and adjust it, Then, instead of doing the sliced samples thing, you select the region you want then hit extract, then do it. It will save it as a new name. Then scroll right over to the next region, and do the same, till you go accross all your slices. It will autorename each new slice. Then, go in to program mode and assign the slices to each pad individualy. It sounds long, but you can do it pretty quick. This way, its the exact same as the auto sliced samples, but they are left stereo.

well id rather do that than have shit slices you no..
