Unwanted mute

Hello there. First post and all, sorry its a question!

Ive had the mpc1000 for a couple of days now and ive just come across a probles..

when im recording my drums from the pads, say i have a hihat playing.. if i go to record a snare on the same or any other track the hihat will mute the snare. Ive checked the settings for pad mutes and they are all off.. Im stumped.

Edit -- ive checked and this is working with all one-shots now loaded onto the mpc :s

I have this sometimes, just create a seperate program for your hihat in a seperate layer.

in program mode:
PARAMS
set "play: mono" to "play: poly"

i have a very simular problem when i try to put in a bassline or something....The bass sample starts and is suddenly chopped way short...havent found a way around this, but maybe its cause you cant load to much up on a single track..,,i dont know but id love an anwer to this...and what the above dude said, thats not the problem,,,i checked that...

ne 1 what causes this?
