how do you store like 1 gig of sound kits?

and have easy access to them?

put them on a DVD disk . make sure their audio or wave files.

how are you gonna load them with your mpc though? mpc 1000 doesn't have a dvd or cd drive. can mpc read directly from an external harddrive? or only from internal and cf card?

Put the DVD in your computer's DVD/CD drive, connect the MPC to the computer via USB, and bingo... you can copy straight from the DVD to the MPC.

Based on what u asking add an internal hard drive and u can store it there and have access to it.

crap.. im hella confused now. the upgrade is for the ram.. memory right?
and what is the point of upgrading the memory?

that's like the stomach.

exm128 gives you 128megs of 'active' storage.
that's like the immediate active brain.
All 128megs could possibly be used to hold like
10 different kits, on 20 tracks, all within one sequence.

If you only had 16 megs of RAM, then the brain would only be
16megs at a time, even though the stomach could still hold 80 gigs.
